Arkansas won its 14th Southeastern Conference triple crown in the 2012-2013 season, setting a new conference record ahead of Tennessee.

“Despite only being in the conference for a little more than two decades, Arkansas has won 14 triple crowns in 22 years,” said Kevin Trainor, associate athletic director. “By comparison, Tennessee won 13 in the previous 55 years in the conference. Florida is the only other school to win an SEC triple crown, and they have done it once.”

Goals remain the same for the Razorback track teams, whether it be for cross country, indoor or outdoor track.

“Each year, the men’s and women’s track and field teams begin the season with the goal of winning both a Southeastern Conference championship and the NCAA Championship,” Trainor said.

The success of the Razorback track program and the many world-class track events held in Fayetteville each year, has earned Fayetteville the title of Track Capital of the World. While the moniker is self-proclaimed and the title is not official, it has been used on signage entering Fayetteville to celebrate the great track and field tradition.

The Razorbacks success in the sport has generated much praise.
