LOS ANGELES – 2012 Gatorade National Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year Abraham Hall has enrolled at UCLA and will join the Bruin track and field team. Hall comes to UCLA from South Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, Texas, where he etched his name as one of the top sprinters in prep history.

"The entire Bruin track and field family is excited to welcome Abraham to Westwood,” director of UCLA track and field Mike Maynard said. “He is truly an excellent and talented young man, and I believe he is a perfect fit for both our team and UCLA.”

Hall sprinted his way into the record books by clocking a 100-meter time of 10.19 at the 2012 Class 5A state championships. The 100-meter time was the fastest in the country in 2012 and ranks as the eighth fastest in prep history.

"With the addition of Abraham to our team, the restoration of UCLA sprints and Bruin track and field are on track for excellence," Maynard said. "Abraham's 100/200m times in high school are nothing short of spectacular. I believe that this is one of the most talented young sprinters in the world of his generation. I consider Abraham to be a cornerstone, and indicator of our future emphasis in recruiting efforts in the sprints."
