Devon Allen, Oregon's star hurdler and receiver, eyes mid-May as his return to sprinting

EUGENE -- One year after bolting out of anonymity to become the country's top hurdler and one of Oregon's best receivers, Devon Allen is again eyeing another fast spring.

Allen's goal is to resume running at what he hopes is close to full strength by mid-May, he told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Friday, after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Jan. 1 during the Ducks' Rose Bowl victory against Florida State.

Due to the injury, Allen is missing what would have been his sophomore track season and has been limited during Oregon's spring football drills. He wears a brace on the knee during football activities and is expected to be fully healthy by fall camp in August.
