Longhorns sweep Big 12 pole vault titlesPublished by Texas SID on May 15, 2015 Complete Results AMES, Iowa – Texas came away with two titles on the first day of the Big 12 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. The Longhorns swept the pole vault titles with Kaitlin Petrillose winning the women's competition and Reese Watson claiming the men's.
The men's team found itself in the lead with 39 points through four of the 21 events. The women scored 21.5 points and sit in fourth place.
Petrillose broke the Big 12 meet record she set last year and Watson won easily as the only male to clear 5.35 meters (17-6.50).
The Longhorns were able to score in bunches in both pole vault competitions with multiple athletes finishing in the top eight as well. Petrillose's win also marks her third straight and the fourth straight the Longhorns in women's pole vault. Read the full article at: www.texassports.com
