Heart of Cross Country Regular Season Starts With Wisconsin, Washington Leading DI

NEW ORLEANS – Wisconsin’s men and Washington’s women remain the No. 1 cross country teams in the nation according to the latest national coaches’ poll conducted by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for NCAA Division I. The top four men’s teams stayed the same with No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 3 BYU, and No. 4 Oklahoma holding strong. Portland’s men joined the top five for the first time this season, jumping up a spot to No. 5. On the women’s side, Florida State and Oregon traded positions to land at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. The heart of the regular season begins this upcoming weekend as meets held Friday and after can count towards at-large selection evaluation for the NCAA Championships.
