University of Kansas Track and Field Kansas’ NCAA Champion Track Team to Visit White House

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas Women's Track & Field team will journey to Washington, D.C. and the White House on Monday, March 10 it was announced Friday evening. The Jayhawks, who claimed the program's first NCAA title last June in Eugene, Ore., will be recognized by President Barack Obama in a ceremony to be held on the south lawn after taking a tour of the White House Monday afternoon.
 
"We couldn't be more excited and honored to have gotten this invitation," said head coach Stanley Redwine. "What that team did last summer was great accomplishment and it's humbling for that accomplishment to be recognized by the President. It will be a great experience for those young women and something they will remember for a lifetime."
