Rosie Clarke of Iona ran the nation's fastest collegiate mile on Friday at the Metro Team Challenge at The Armory.

Clarke, the teammate of NCAA cross country champion Kate Avery, ran 4:37.82 to win a competitive race with Villanova's Stephanie Schappert (4:41.22).

Additionally, Rutgers standout Gabrielle Farquharson won three women's events and Dylan Capwell helped lead a strong effort for the Monmouth men.

Farquharson won 60 meters (7.48), the 200 (24.04) and also the long jump (20-8.50).

The long jump was a lifetime best and moved Farquharson to No. 7 on the NCAA list this winter.

Villanova overpowered the women's competition with 137 points to beat a field that included 20 college teams. Monmouth was second with 85.5.

The Wildcats got a victory from Julie Williams in the 3,000 meters (9:51.11) and a 1-2 finish in the 60 hurdles from Shanice Grant and Emerald Walden. Angel Piccirillo won the 1,000 (2:47.97) and Cleirigh Buttner won the 600 (1:31.55).

Naomi Hines of Fairleigh Dickinson won the weight throw with 59-foot toss on her first attempt.

The LIU-Brooklyn women ran the 4x400 in 3:46.98 for the win.

On the men's side, Capwell ran 1:49.47 for the seventh-fastest 800 meters in the nation so far this year.

Dillon Simon of Maryland-Eastern Shore won the shot put with 60-3. It wasn't his best throw of the season, however. He ranks fifth nationally.

LIU-Brooklyn All-American  Brendon Rodney won the 60 dash in 6.81 seconds. His teammates, Amir Armstrong and Adam Walker-Khan won the triple jump (48-11) and long jump (23-4), respectively.

Elbert Maxwell of Villanova won the high jump with 6-10.25.

Lester Taylor of Fordham won the 1000 meters in 2:27.14.

Ishmael Muhammad from Villanova ran 1:18.34  for a victory in the 600.

Monmoth, Rutgers and Villanova top the men's scoring charts. Villanova, Monmoth and UMBC took the top three spots in women's scoring.
