It was a huge weekend for college track and field with national championship meets for NAIA, NCAA Division II and Division III, plus Division I East and West prelims. With so many to choose from, please select your three favorites from the following list.
NAIA - Moriba Morain, Wiley College: The freshman won the NAIA 100 meters with 10.09w and was second in the 200 with 20.76w. - Sam Atkins, Lewis-Clark State: He won the NAIA 5,000 (14:08.84) and was third in the 10,000. - Corian Knight, Florida Memorial: The sophomore won the NAIA long jump title with 25-1.75. - Eric England, Eastern Oregon: He won the NAIA triple jump title with 52-11 and placed fourth in the long jump. - Kale Wolken, Doane: He won the NAIA decathlon with 7,830 points. His winning margin was nearly 1,000 points. - Brianna Woods, Indiana Tech: She won the sprint double at the NAIA Championships with 11.45/23.45. - Jessa Perkinson, Southern Oregon: Less than two months since her 10K debut, she won the NAIA title with 36:10.83. - Seri Geisler, Valley City State: She won the NAIA javelin crown with 168-6 and became her school's first national champion in women's track. NCAA Division III - Mitchell Black, Tufts: He won his fourth national title, taking the 800 meters in 1:49.58. - Ian LaMere, Wisconsin-Platteville: He won the NCAA Division 3 distance double, with 14:24.02 (5K) and 30:21.40 (10K). - Luke Campbell, Salisbury: He swept the hurdles finals, taking the 110s (13.93) and 400s (50.52). - Huleria McGuffie, UMass-Boston: She ran 53.55 seconds to win the 400 meters title. - Emily Richards, Ohio Northern: The sophomore ran 2:05.88 to capture the 800 meters title. - Amy Regan, Stevens Institute: She swept the distance events, claiming the 5K in 16:27.32 and the 10K in 35:46.27. - Melanie Winters, Baldwin Wallace: She was a double national champion, taking the 200 (24.67) and the 100 hurdles (13.78). - Katherine Pitman, Ithaca: She won the pole vault title with 13-9.75. - Bria Halama, Wisconsin-LaCrosse: She won the triple jump crown with 42-2.25. NCAA Division II - Burkheart Ellis Jr, St. Augustine's: He won the national title in the 200 (20.46) and was second in the 100 (10.17). - Dontavius Wright, Stillman: He won the 400 meters title with 45.44 seconds. - Khallifah Rosser, Cal State-Los Angeles: He won the 400-meter hurdles title in 49.04 seconds. - Jordan Yamoah, TAMU-Kingsville: He won the national title in the pole vault with 17-7.75. - Damarcus Simpson, Chadron State: The sophomore jumped 26-4.50w to win the long jump title. - Garrett Appier, Pittsburg State: The senior won the national title in the shot put with 66-10. - Darien Thornton, Grand Valley State: He threw a PR 233-7 to win the national title in the hammer. - Caleb Nieves-Valez, P.R. Rio Piedras: He won the javelin title with a throw of 249-7. - Carly Muscaro, Merrimack: She ran 51.32 seconds to win the 400 meters title. - Carsyn Koch, Cedarville: She won the 800 meters title with 2:03.48. - Emily Oren, Hillsdale: She won the 1,500 meters with 4:20.61, won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with 10:06.75 and placed third in the 5,000. - Lauren Martin, Adams State: She won the Division II distance double -- 16:33.70 in the 5K and 34:25.20 in the 10K. - Tia-Adana Belle, St. Augustine's: She won the 400 hurdles title with 56.13 seconds. - Nikia Squire, Queens (N.C.): She won the national title in the long jump with 21-2.75w. - Madison McLaughlin, Black Hills State: She won the national title in the shot put with 55-8.50. - Heavin Warner, Central Missouri: She crushed the Division II national record in the hammer with a winning mark of 227-5. She also placed third in the shot put and the discus. - Allison Updike, Azusa Pacific: She won the national title in the javelin with 183-10. NCAA Division I Prelims - Brandon McBride, Mississippi State: He was the top qualifier in the East prelims 800 meters with 1:44.89. - Mason Ferlic, Michigan: He was the top qualifier in the East prelims 3,000-meter steeplechase with 8:29.54. - Matthew O'Neal, South Florida: He popped a big jump of 55-9.75w to advance to the NCAA finals in the triple jump. - Ebony Morrison, Miami: She ran a PR 12.76 seconds for the top qualifying time in the 100 hurdles at the East prelims. - Keturah Orji, Georgia: She was the top qualifier at the East prelims in the long jump (21-8.75) and triple jump (46-10.75). - Nikki Okwelogu, Harvard: She threw 58-9.25 for the top qualifying mark in the shot put at the East prelims. - Nick Miller, Oklahoma State: He took one throw, a lifetime best 252-5, to be the top qualifier in the hammer in the West prelims. - Deajah Stevens, Oregon: She led all West qualifiers in the 200 meters with 22.48 seconds. - Courtney Frerichs, New Mexico: She ran 9:51.48 to lead qualifying in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the West prelims. - Hannah Carson, Texas Tech: She threw 191-6 to lead discus qualifiers and 182-9 for the second best javelin mark at the West prelims.
