[Men's Track] Tennessee Wesleyan Competes at UCS Invitational

Winston-Salem, N.C. – Tennessee Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams competed in their final regular season indoor meet this past weekend (Feb. 20th) at the UCS Invitational hosted at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Senior Willie Thornhill set a school record in the 600-meter dash, finishing 14th overall with a time of 1:32.79.

Freshman Chris Anderson also beat his previous school record in the shot put. Anderson threw a mark of 11.67-meters, which placed him 20th overall.

Sophomore Cadarius Harris finished eighth in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 6.92. Sophomore Chaz Hawkins finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdle finials with a time of 8.29.

On the women's side, sophomore Rachel Lawhown set a school record in the shot put. Lawhorn finished sixth overall with a time mark of 12.08-meters.

Junior Centra Mcbee set a school record in the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:48.69 to finish fifteenth overall.

Junior Leah Chance posted a top five finish in the 5,000-meter run. Chance finished 5th overall with a time of 18:48.44.

Tennessee Wesleyan waits to hear which individuals have qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on Mar. 3rd-5th hosted at East Tennessee State University, in Johnson City, Tenn. The rest of the team will gear up for their first outdoor regular season on Mar. 19th-20th at the Emory University Invitational.
