[Cross Country] Hawks Race Locally in SDSU InvitationalPublished by
SAN DIEGO – The SDC men's and women's cross country teams stayed local as they competed in the San Diego State Aztec Invitational Friday morning. The women's team went first , running a 5k race against the likes of SDSU and UNLV. Mayra Espitia finished first among the SDC runners with a time of 25:43.7 and in 30th place. Jazmine Swindler finished next in 41st with a time of 27:39, 55 seconds ahead of Kristin Jones who rounded out the Hawks in 43rd place. The men's team finished in fifth place with 128 points. Daniel Camacho led the Hawks in 28th place and a time of 25:41.3 in the 4-mile race. He averaged a mile 6:25. Miguel Morales was a second behind Camacho, coming in 30th place. Hunter Ennis followed the top two in 39th place and a total time of 27:51.5. Joseph Arellano (42nd, 29:18) and Peter Gomez (47th, 30:51.4) rounded out the runners.
