Tiger cross country competes at Mount MartyPublished by
 Kellan Willett  Haley Brunke YANKTON, S.D. Eight runners competed at the Mount Marty Invite Saturday morning for the Dakota Wesleyan University cross country team. Freshman Kellan Willet finished in the top 30 for the Tiger men and sophomore Haley Brunke paced the DWU women s team. Willet finished 30th for the Dakota Wesleyan men in a time of 26:51.67. Jeff Sahli, Trace Tjeerdsma and Jared Stearns also competed for the Tiger men. Sahli finished 85th in 28:33.62, Tjeerdsma took 88th in 28:37.86 and Stearns finished in 30:50.31 and took 138th. Brunke took 44th to lead the Dakota Wesleyan women. She completed the race in 20:25.5. Skylar Forgey finished 60th in 20:51.17 and Jessica Neises completed the race in 22:03.06 and took 89th. Heather Banister also competed for Dakota Wesleyan Saturday. She took 127th in 26:55.09. Saturday s race was the final warm up for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships for Dakota Wesleyan. The GPAC championship races are Saturday, Nov. 9, in Seward, Neb.
