[Men's Track & Field] Kamoni Earns a Taste of NAIA Nationals

Comments

Spencer Kamoni was competing in his first national meet on Friday, March 02, 2012, in the 1000 meter semifinals. At stake was place in the finals and a chance to earn All-American status.

At the start, the pace of the first 100 was a little herky jerky and appeared to throw him off.

"It was a goofy race. It sped up and then slowed down and he was right in the pack until the last lap and when they made their kick he made his too they were just a little better," said Jamestown College Women's Track Coach Jim Clark.

Kamoni, a sophomore from Jamestown, posted a 2:36.96, which was off his best time by more than four seconds.

Kamoni competed in cross country for the Jimmies in the fall, running a 28:14 PR in the 8K during the Fall 2011 season.
