Glisar third, Grove sets USD record at USATF Indoor Championships - University of South Dakota Official Athletic SitePublished by
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – South Dakota high jumper Megan Glisar tied her school record height of 6 feet, 0¾ inches to place third while pole vaulter Emily Grove set a new school record of 14-9½ to place sixth at the USATF Indoor Championships at the ABQ Convention Center on Sunday. Glisar cleared the first three heights (5-9¾, 5-11½, 6-0¾) of the competition on her first attempt before missing at 6-2. Inika McPherson, who competed unattached, won the event at 6-3¼. Grove topped the previous school-best of 14-7½ set by Bethany Firsick at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships last June. She cleared 13-11¾, 14-5½ and 14-9½ all on her third attempt and now ranks first on the Division I pole vault performance list. Mary Saxer of the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) won the event with a height of 15-5½. USD was also represented by graduate assistant coach Kenna Wolter, who finished seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 42-3½. Amanda Smock of Asics/NYAC won the event with a mark of 45-3¾.
