[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Jordan Foster Wins the Javelin at both the Bellarmine Invite ...

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Concordia men's Track and Field team has been on the road for the past couple meets competing both in Kentucky and here in Michigan.  For the men the throws and distance runners carried the team at the Bellarmine Invite in Louisville, KY.  Christopher Deneen (FR/Hemlock, MI) had a personal record in the discus with a throw of 32.81 meters.  Jordan Foster (JR/Las Vegas, NV) won the Javelin with a toss of 171 feet! Rounding out the throws was Adam Koch (SO/Fort Wayne, IN), who set a new school record with a heave of 39.4m or just over 129 feet.  Head Coach Jamie LaBrosse stated that "These are great signs of things to come as these athletes continue to put in the work."

Also putting in a good showing were the mid and long distance runners.  Andrew Gardner (SO/Flushing, MI) ran both the 800m and the 1500m.  Miguel Gonzalez-Feliciano (FR/Beavercreek, OH) ran a personal record in the 5000m and Alex Kitchin (JR/Flushing, MI) ran a personal record in the 800m and the 1500m.  All three runners are looking to strong as the team moves closer to the conference championships.

 

At the Don Kleinow Invitational in Adrian, MI the Cardinals were once again led by the throwers.  Jordan Foster won the javelin, with a throw of 49.30m and also had a personal record in the shot put.  Robert Duff Jr (JR/Crosswell, MI) placed 2nd in the javelin setting a new personal record of 48.29.  Conner Blanch and Christopher Deneen both set personal records in the hammer.  

For the distance runners two runners competed for the first time in the 3000m steeple chase.  Andrew Gardner and Miguel Gonzalez-Feliciano both ran the race for the first time setting the baseline for continued improvement.

In the long jump Darionta Ross (FR/Richton Park, IL) jumped 19.34 feet improving on his previous attempt by over 3 feet.

 

The Cardinals will be back in action on May 2 at the WHAC Championships.
