[Women's Outdoor Track & Field] Cards Seconds Away from 14 Year Old School Record in the ...Published by
(Ann Arbor, MI) – The women's track team has participated in several meets over the last few weeks. The first one was in Kentucky, the Bellarmine Invite. In this meet, the lady Cardinals showed the most focus they have had yet. Freshmen Adrian Motley (FR/Detroit, MI) finally got a chance to compete in her first college meet. She participated in the 100m, 200m and the 400m. Coach Foster will be looking to her to help add points in these events as Adrian continues to improve. Senior Joy Orr (JR/Lawrence, MI) continues to set the standard for work ethic. Her hard work in practice is paying off as she set a new personal record of 1:05.79. Other notable performances included Molly Jarvis (FR/Livonia, MI), who ran her college personal record in the 400m with a time of 1:08.65. Sidney Bosley (FR/Canton, GA) and Brie Schofield (FR/Belleville, MI) both ran at the college level for the first time as well. Sidney ran in the 400m and Brie ran the 800m. Their most recent meet was in the Don Klienow Invitational at Siena Heights, MI. On one of the first warm days of the spring the Lady Cardinals took flight, as Sidney Bosley, Joy Orr, Molly Jarvis and Adrian Motley placed 9th at the invite with a time of 4:39.89, just below the school record of 4:36.68. Coach Foster was happy to see the ladies hard work pay off and was proud to see another school record set under her watch. Orr and Jarvis had built on previous strong performances. Jarvis had set a personal record in the 400 high hurdles with a time of 1:12.53 and Orr ran her first 800m with a time of 2:41.51. Other strong female performances included Jamie Schaub (SO/Brooklyn, MI), who had a personal record in the Javelin with a throw of 24.4m. Brie Schofield also had a personal record in the 1500 meter with a time of 5:22.19. The Cards will compete next May, 2nd in the WHAC Championships held in Adrian, MI. Go Cards!
