[Men's Outdoor Track & Field] Shot Put record for Raymond at Siena Heights

Comments

(Adrian, Mich.) Last season the Siena Heights Don Kleinow Invitational was cancelled because of bad weather, the 2014 version brought sunny skies, mild temperatures and good competition.

Looking for a fast race in the 800 meters, Cornerstone sent Mike Darling to rabbit for Louis Falland. After a 55.6 second first lap, Falland and Ed Clifton of Michigan State battled each other and the headwind on the homestretch. Clifton prevailed in 1:53.99 while Louis lowered his best time to 1:54.59.

CU throwers had a good day. Freshman, Josh Brand took fifth in the javelin, extending his best to 148-7. In the hammer throw, Ross Raymond took sixth with a PR 150-7 and freshman Gabe Turner improved to 141' 8" in ninth. Raymond added eight inches to the school record he set in the shot put last week at MSU. The new mark of 48' 3 ½" put him eighth.

Logan Norton placed sixth in the pole vault clearing 14-11.
