2014 NAIA Track National Championship Day Two Recap

Josh Peck competed in the men's discus on Friday

GULF SHORES, Ala. The Baker University track and field team competed in day two of the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Friday at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.

Ty Sloan opened up the day for Baker with an impressive showing in the women's 100m hurdle preliminary race, as she won her heat in a time of 14:12 and advanced to the final heat on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Dayshawn Berndt took on the men's 400m preliminary race on Friday and finished his heat in sixth-place in a time of 49.09, the Baldwin City product did not qualify for Saturday's final heat.

Josh Peck took part in the men's discus prelims and threw a mark of 46.63m but was just short of qualifying for the final discus heat.

Kayla Hannam competed in the women's triple jump prelims on Friday and competed in the first flight, posting a jump of 10.33m and didn't qualify for the final heat.

The Baker men's 4x400m relay team consisting of David Gregory, Tyler Randall, Birdsong Warren and Berndt ran an impressive time of 3:15.45, but just missed out on a spot in the finals.
