LIVE OAK, TEXAS (Oct. 11, 2014) -- Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU) women's cross-country team started the 2014 Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday morning with a cool breeze, but before the women could run once around the trail, the rain slowly started coming down. Within a few minutes, the drizzle turned into a down pouring of torrential rain that scattered all onlookers under trees, umbrellas and other covers. However, the 134 runners had to endure the weather to continue the 8K race (3.73 miles). The Saints finished in sixth place out of 13 teams in the non-Division I category.

Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, "It was an interesting day to say the least as the weather was pretty unique. I have ran in and coached in everything ranging from rain to snow, but I have never been involved in a meet where the weather was so vastly different from one race to the other. In the end, however, the men and the women competed well."
