Men's Gold Race Results BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 15th-ranked Indiana men's cross country team took first place in the college gold race at Lehigh University's Paul Short run on Saturday. The Hoosiers placed five runners in the top 30 to take the win. The IU women finished in sixth in the team standings in a very competitive field with Samantha Ginther (second) and Kelsey Duerksen (seventh) placing in the top 10 individually. JR Ricker led the way for the men, finishing in 10th place while clocking in with a time of 24:12 in the 8K run.Robby Nierman finished in 13th place in 24:23. Rorey Hunter finished the course in 24:25 in 15th just behind Nierman. Bloomington native Carl Smith crossed the line in 21st position with a time of 24:30. Rounding out the Hoosier scoring was Evan Esselink in 30th place in a time of 24:38. The IU men tallied 89 total points, finishing ahead of second place Dartmouth (106 points) and No. 20 Georgetown (110) in third place. This marks the second time in five years that the Indiana men's team has won the Paul Short team title (2009). In the women's race, Ginther was the first Hoosier to finish the 6K run in a time of 20:10 to earn a second place finish. Duerksen clocked in at 20:30 for seventh place.
