Tylor Thatcher is #1 and #7 is teammate Thomas Gruenwald, at the September 14 Autumn Classic.

Tylor Thatcher attended Central Valley Senior High School in Spokane, Wash., where he led the Bears to a third-place Class 4A finish at the 2006 Washington state cross country championships, taking fourth-place individual honors. He arrived at BYU in the fall of 2007 with relatively modest personal bests on the track of 4:24 for the mile and 9:19 for 3200m. After his freshman year, Thatcher embarked on a two-year Mormon mission to Paraguay, returning to BYU in the fall of 2010. He did not compete again until the 2011 cross country season, which was highlighted by an eighth-place finish at the West Coast Conference Championships followed by 84th at NCAAs in contributing to BYU’s fourth-place finish that year. Last fall Thatcher jumped up to finish 34th at nationals and garner All-American accolades, although the Cougars slipped to sixth.
