VESTAL, N.Y. With its runner up finish at this past weekend s America East Championships, the Binghamton men s cross country team has vaulted into the USTFCCCA Northeast Region Poll. The Bearcats check in at No. 14, marking the first time they have appeared in the rankings since 2010.

Binghamton finished a close second to UMBC at the conference meet on Saturday. Senior Vasili Papastrat was fifth overall followed by junior Collin Frost in ninth place. All 10 of the Bearcats entrees in the meet finished at least in the top half of the men s race.

This marks the fourth time in six years that Binghamton has been ranked in the USTFCCCANortheast Region Poll. In 2008, the Bearcats were as high as No. 13. The following year, Binghamton was a program-best eighth and in 2010, it concluded the year at No. 10.

The NCAA Northeast Regional Meet will be held Nov. 15 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. In 2009, Binghamton placed a program-best eighth in the team standings.
